IGNOU UG Admission 2026-27

Students who want to pursue any bachelor’s degree program offered by IGNOU can enrol. IGNOU Admission 2026 last date is 31 May 2026*. The IGNOU Admission process for the July 2026 session has been initiated for the eligible students. Applicants can access and complete their online application form on IGNOU’s official admission portal.

A few of the UG Courses offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University are BCom, BA, BBA, BSc in Nursing, BSW, and otheRs. Those who want to enroll in any UG courses of IGNOU will be required to have a certificate of completion of their 12th class. Students are granted admission directly based on their scores in their intermediate. The minimum duration of this program is 3 years while the maximum is 6 yeaRs. IGNOU offers two types of Bachelor’s degrees, one as an Honors and the second as a Non-Honors. What is DEB ID? (DEB ID Creation)

There has been a new announcement from University Grant Commission (UGC), they have made some changes in the admission procedure, now if someone wants to take admission in open and distance learning (ODL) or online learning (OL) programs for Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) recognized by the Commission, then first that candidate will have to make a Distance Education Bureau ID (DEB ID) which is a unique identification number provided by Distance Education Bureau to learners who want to access DEB services and resources. Students can visit this website deb.ugc.ac.in to create a DEB ID. 

To make a DEB ID, it is necessary to have an Academic Bank of Credit ID (ABC ID). If you don’t have it, then don’t worry, you can make an ABC ID from your Digilocker login. It is necessary for all learners to make a DEB ID except international learneRs. Without a valid DEB ID, you cannot take admission in the ODL program.

How to Generate DEB-ID? 

Go to the official web portal of UGC-DEB and create your DEB-ID using your Academic Bank of Credit ID Card (ABC-ID Card). If you don’t have an ABC-ID, you can create it from Digi Locker (as mentioned earlier). You just have to make a DEB-ID once, then its validity will be lifetime.

Note- It is mandatory for the candidates who want to enroll in any ODL program to generate a DEB ID card (Distance Education Bureau ID card) and an ABC (Academic Bank of Credit ID Card) for admission in IGNOU.

IGNOU Admission Entrance Exam 2026-27

There is an entrance exam for courses like B.Ed., MEd, PhD, and Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing. IGNOU Admission Entrance Exam Pattern 2026-27

• Mode of Examination: There is an offline entrance exam for admission to some IGNOU courses.
• Total No. A total of 100 questions will be given in the entrance exam question paper.
• Duration: Time will be given for the entrance exam to solve the question paper is 2 hours (120 minutes).
• Marks: Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each right answer, which means the total marks will be 100.

IGNOU BEd Admission 2026-27

IGNOU conducts an entrance exam for the B.Ed. The program admission is every year. IGNOU BEd entrance exam 2026 eligibility requires students to get 50% marks in a bachelor’s degree and hold teaching experience (which is optional). IGNOU BEd registration fees are INR 1,000/-, and the total course fees are INR 55,000/-. 

IGNOU Post Basic BSc Nursing 2026-27

To pursue the IGNOU Post Basic BSc Nursing program, candidates must carry the 10+2 passing certificates, Diploma in GNM, and 2 years of experience. The entrance exam name for this course is OPENNET. Total course fees for the Post Basic BSc Nursing program from IGNOU are INR 69,000.

IGNOU Phd Admission 2026-27

Candidates must have passed the Master’s exam with 55% marks from a recognized university, and it is mandatory for the students to clear the IGNOU PhD entrance test. Total fees for the  IGNOU Phd program are INR 12,600. 

IGNOU MPhil Admission 2026-27

To pursue the IGNOU MPhil program, candidates must hold a Master’s degree from a recognized university. In addition, candidates must clear the entrance test of OPENMAT. Total course fees for the IGNOU MPhil program is INR 16,800.

IGNOU Admission Status 2026-27

Indira Gandhi National Open University simplifies the process for applicants to know the status of their admission at the university. IGNOU Admission Scholarship 2026-27

Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a scholarship programme for the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/MINORITY). This programme is for the candidates who are already enrolled in any IGNOU programme. The IGNOU Scholarship programme is totally under the guidance of the Government of India. Enrolled candidates are eligible to apply for the Government of India Scholarships program; they just need to take admission in IGNOU, and after confirmation of the registration, visit the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in, and apply for that.

IGNOU Scholarship Application Procedure 2026-27

The procedure to apply for the scholarship program at IGNOU for your current session is as follows: 

Step 1: To apply for the IGNOU scholarship program, eligible candidates must visit the official website @scholarships.gov.in.

IGNOU Admission Re-Registration 2026-27

The re-registration process of IGNOU is for those students who are already enrolled in any program offered by the university. The re-registration process has started for the upcoming July 2026 academic session. During the IGNOU Re-Registration process, applicants will have to enter their username, password, and captcha. Students who complete their IGNOU re-registration are enrolled in the next year or semester of their program.

IGNOU Date Sheet 2026 (tentative) will be uploaded by the university for the upcoming examination on its official website. IGNOU Hall Ticket for June 2026 Term End Examination will be available in the last week of May; students must carry the hall ticket to enter the examination hall. 

IGNOU Passing Marks 2026

At Indira Gandhi National Open University, students have to take a term-end examination in which the passing marks for an undergraduate degree is 35% marks and for a postgraduate degree is 40% marks. Similarly, for the diploma course, there are passing marks for both practical and theory.  Overall, students need to achieve a grade of C or above to get a degree for UG, PG, or Diploma from IGNOU.

IGNOU Admission Offline Process 2026-27

• Students must visit their nearest IGNOU Regional Centre.
• Take and fill the IGNOU admission application form.
• And attach all the required documents (Self-Attest).
• Now, students submit their IGNOU admission application form with two photographs.
• After submitting the admission application form, students have to pay the admission registration fee.

IGNOU Student Portal Login with Enrollment No

Students can download their Identity Card with the 9 or 10 digits of their enrolment number and password, which is provided by the university, by visiting the IGNOU Samarth portal, then going to the “Student Zone” or “ID Card” section. Enrolled students can download their IGNOU Hall Ticket June 2026 from 05 June 2026 for their programs. Without a hall ticket, there is no entry in the TEE.
