Established with only one study centre on 01st December 1986, IGNOU has made conscious efforts in the development of the regional centre of Lucknow. This regional centre is currently working for the students of the central region of UP, which consists of 32 districts and hence, 76 learner support centres. After a few years of this regional centre’s establishment, it was divided into 4 other regional centres. Even after the division, this regional centre of Lucknow is still considered one of the largest regional centres of IGNOU, if considering the enrollment number and the number of jurisdictions in view.
