IGNOU offers admission twice a year for its Academic Year, in January and July. IGNOU BA admission process has started for the January Academic Session 2026. Bachelor of Arts (BA) is an Undergraduate Programme. Students need to pay an application fee while applying for admission. It is mandatory to pay and is non refundable.

Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BA Admission 2026-27

Total Programme fee of BA programme is INR 14,400 for three years, excluding application fee of INR 300 and the Development fee. One Year Programme fee is INR 4800. Students from reserved category get a relaxation of Rs. 150 in application fee. Fees can be paid through Online mode of payment via Debit card, Credit card, UPI and Netbanking.

Applying for the IGNOU BA admission 2026-27, you have to visit the official page of the website, and for registration do follow these simple steps to smoothly apply for admission without facing any kind of inconvenience:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of IGNOU and go to the admission section. Click on the mode you want to apply in (ODL or OL)
  • Step 2: Click on New Registration. Fill your basic information and create an account. (Provide your own email and contact number)
  • Step 3: After successful registration, you will receive your Username through email or SMS. Login to your account now.
  • Step 4: Now fill application form with all required personal details like Name, Phone Number, Address, etc.
  • Step 5: Then, fill your educational details and choose the course you want to apply in.
  • Step 6: In the next step upload your photo, Id proof, signature and other required proof of documents.
  • Step 7: Submit the Application form and save it for future reference
  • Step 8: Pay application fee and submit your form. 
  • Step 9: Download fee payment receipt for future reference.
  • Step 10: University will verify everything. Once verified, your admission will be confirmed and you’ll receive email confirmation.

Important NOTE: DEB ID is mandatory to fill application form. If you do not have one, please create your DEB ID before applying for admission.

IGNOU BA Admission 2026-27 Cancellation Policy

IGNOU provides an Admission Cancellation policy in case students change their mind or have to back out for any reason with some terms & conditions. In any case, application or registration fee is not refundable. 15% of programme fee and Rs. 2000 will be deducted from the fee paid in case the request for cancellation is received after confirmation of admission. No Refund fee will be admissible to any students after 60 days of the closing date of  admissions. If a student who has received scholarship cancels admission, then only development fee will be refunded to them. IGNOU has an objective of providing accessible education to every student. To achieve this, it offers various scholarship policies.
