IGNOU DElEd Admission 2026-27

The admission process for the 2026-27 session at IGNOU has begun. The university offers a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. The application portal has opened on the official IGNOU website. Students who want admission in IGNOU need to meet the eligibility criteria. Students must have completed their Class 12th with at least 50% marks to be eligible for DElEd. The age limit for the IGNOU DElEd admission program will be 18 to 35 years. 

Diploma in Elementary Education is for those students who want to have a career in teaching, primary teaching, and child development. IGNOU DElEd admission Eligibility: Eligibility criteria for Diploma in Elementary Education provided by IGNOU. IGNOU DElEd Examination Pattern

Candidates must submit the assignment of IGNOU DElEd before the Term End Examination, because without submission of the assignment, students will not be able to download the Hall Ticket. IGNOU conducts exams two times a year, in June and December. There will be a preparation time for students before they give exams. Announcement for exam form will be updated soon*, before the December term-end exam.

Students must complete both theory and practical work to develop their skills and understand the educational concepts. The grading system is divided into two sections: internal assessment and term-end examination. The breakout exam marks are- assignment and practical exam for this course, assignments consist of 30% marks, and the term-end examination (written exam) consists of 70%. After combining these two sections, students will get an evaluation. Students need at least a 35% passing mark in both practical and theory to clear the passing eligibility criteria.

NOTE: IGNOU does not offer the D.El.Ed program from 2019. This program was discontinued in 2019 after the strict guidelines of the UGC. Those who are seeking the D.El.Ed program must go through the other courses IGNOU is offering.
